Poker pro Phil Laak has broken the world record for the longest consecutive session of the poker online game, the poker player has played 115 hours sitting at the table and managed to defeat the official Guinness record. The 37-year-old Laak said after breaking the record that he intended to continue playing until he had played at least 90 hours. “There were a few moments, I realized that if I could not stand, I can not continue.” Laak said. Laak has won more than 2.5 million U.S. dollars from poker tournaments in his career and is often seen in poker TV shows. The pro hopes to fulfill a lifelong dream to get it into the Guinness Book of World Records. The attempt will only validate if his staff send the recording or other documentation of the attempt to the Guinness authorities. Thousands watched live via web-cam during the four-day poker record attempt. Larry Olmsted had the previous record of 72 hours, 2 minutes, achieved in the Foxwood Casino in Connecticut in 2004. Laak, who started the record attempt at the Bellagio hotel-casino, was allowed five minutes break for every hour of play, he banked his time, so he could take a shower or could do yoga. He had nutritionist meals every five hours and was on a strict no-sweets, low fat diet since January to prepare for the performance.
